Brig Gen Okolong dropped in the new UPDF changes

President Yoweri Museveni has dropped Brigadier General Eriazake Okolong as the second in command of the 3rd infantry Division in Moroto.

 

He has been replaced by  Brig Gen David Mugisha.

 

Brig. Okolong moved to the 3rd division as the second in command about a year ago after commanding the 405 brigade in Nakapelimoru Kotido District.

 

Maj Isaac Oware, the UPDF 3rd division spokesperson confirmed that Brig Okolong has been taken back to UPDF headquarters.

 

In a tweet, the Defense Spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye said that on the 12th of April, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni being the commander in chief of the Uganda People’s Defense Force confirmed the UPDF commission board proposal for elevation in ranks of the three UPDF senior officers.

 

These include Brig. Gen Charity Bainaabo from the rank of colonel and now appointed deputy commander SFC while supervising first Special Forces Group (SFG) as well.

 

Others include Brig Gen. David Mugisha from a colonel and now the second in command of the 3rd infantry division in Moroto and Lt Col Nathan Nabimanya promoted to Col and appointed second Commander Special Forces Group (SFG).
