Bukedea - As polling date for Bukedea district LC5 by-elections come closer, the LC5 NRM flag bearer Akol Mary has urged all the leaders and people in the constituency to put aside fights but unite as one for it's development.
While traversing for support at Kolir sub county head quarters earlier today before moving to Kongunga primary school for the second rally, Akol explained that the district is for all and for it's development to be steered then unity should be at the front.
The hopeful LC5 further promised to ensure that the people in the district get better services and once given the mandate,she will ensure that the voices of the people are heard and have services rendered to them.
The MP for Ngariam county,Peter Ogwang who also doubles as the state minister for education and sports, while addressing the crowd said that their candidate is the best since she is from the ruling party and will have ease in bringing services to the people during the two remaining years as she has the capability of finishing up the manifesto of the late LC5 Moses Olemukan.
He further assured victory for the NRM candidate.
Meanwhile the NRM vice chairperson for eastern Uganda,Mike Mukula urged the residents to stop listening to lies from other person's but rather turn up in big numbers and vote for the NRM candidate.
Bukedea district will be going for polls on 14th, Wednesday to vote for a new LC5 after the seat fell vacant after the late LC5 Moses Olemukan passing on.
Three candidates were successfully nominated by the electoral commission and these include,Akol Mary (NRM),Oita Sam Odeke (FDC) and Ebukalin Okwi Taiki (Independent).
It should also be noted that Stephen Omagor an independent -NRM leaning candidate who failed to be nominated last week after unknown people attacked him at EC offices in the district decided to pull out of the race after failing to appear at the EC offices for nomination today.
In a press statement circulating in social media, according to Omagor,his decision comes out after meeting up with the NRM leadership where he came up with an ideology of consolidating cohesion with in the party and avoiding internal conflict in the NRM party and in the spirit of fraternity of the NRM, calling upon his supporters to rally behind the NRM candidate.
