Katakwi -After successfully concluding the delegated Budget day duties, the Vice President Jessica Alupo who is also woman MP-Katakwi District yesterday resumed Constituency outreach programmes with further interventional exercises of distributing hand hoes to small land holders in Katakwi district.
The exercise that was launched last Tuesday targets to benefit 35000 households within the district to improve food security and household income. H.E president Y.K.M recently urged all MPs to continuously interact with their voters and sensitize them about government programmes especially PDM and Emyooga.
It should also be noted that last year ,the Vice President distributed hand held tractors and heavy duty tractors to different farmer SACCO groups, heifers to veterans and launched a milk plant as part of her efforts to boost commercial farming and food security in her Constituency.
Yesterday, the Vice President made a stop over at Ongutunyo Primary School in Ongatunyo village where she urged the pupils to stay in school till completion and further promised to roof the four classroom block whose roof had been completely blown off by wind to enhance condusive learning environment for the pupils.
She challenged the pupils to interest themselves in becoming responsible citizens who will continuously change Katakwi and indeed the whole country, for the better.
She pledged to support the ICT needs of peace high school Toroma where she equally made a mini stop over on her return journey home.
