SOROTI - On December 8, 2023, Ariokot Faith Patricia, an environmentalist from Uganda, embarked on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual tree hug, aptly named “A Treemendous Hug.”
Unfortunately, a technical glitch with the camera marred her initial attempt, causing the omission of several crucial minutes from the event.
Undeterred by this setback, Ariokot Faith Patricia resolved to make another record-breaking attempt on December 29, 2023, demonstrating her commitment to setting a new standard.
A firm believer in the importance of every tree and environmental conservation, Ariokot has called upon the public for their support, emphasizing the collective significance of this extraordinary feat.
This announcement coincides with Dorcus Bashema Kirabo's (Mama D) endeavor to break the Guinness World Record for the longest hours ever spent cooking by an individual.
In a recent message on her X account, Ariokot shared, "Hi, I'm Ariokot Faith Patricia. I attempted a Guinness World Record on December 8, 2023, for the longest individual tree hug. Despite breaking the record, a camera glitch resulted in missed minutes. I will be reattempting this on December 29, 2023. Trees matter, and I need your support. #atreemendoushug."
In another post, she expressed her gratitude for the support, stating, "Walking into my @GWR, knowing the whole of Uganda is backing me. A few hours from now, we are embarking on this journey together. Uganda to the world."
Despite the lighthearted remark, she reflected on the importance of trees, saying, "If trees gave us wifi, many of us would plant them with joy. Shame they only give us oxygen."
She posed a question to her followers, asking, "Where is the tree you have planted?"
Ariokot is gearing up for another round on Friday, December 29, 2023, starting at 6:30 am at May 7 Gardens in Soroti City, determined to turn her record-breaking vision into reality.
