MUKONO - The Iteso community in Mukono has made an impressive contribution of 130 bags of cement towards the construction of Emorimor’s Palace, set to commence soon.
This mobilization is part of a larger campaign to build the palace, with contributions coming from Iteso residents in Kampala and beyond.
His Royal Highness Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng was warmly welcomed at the Prayer Miracle Church of Christ in Kiwanga, Seeta, Mukono, by Apostle Daniel Emaasit Osuret.
The event, filled with cultural performances, included a mini fundraising where the congregation and others pledged their support.
Apostle Osuret, head of the church, declared his commitment to supporting the palace construction, revealing that his congregation had raised enough to secure 100 bags of cement, with colleagues from Lango contributing an additional shs. 1,000,000 to secure 30 bags.
He emphasized the importance of cultural unity and urged all Iteso to support the initiative.
The Iteso also surprised Emorimor by gifting him a new royal chair, symbolizing their respect and solidarity.
In response, Emorimor expressed his deep gratitude, viewing the contribution as a testament to the community’s unity.
He reaffirmed his commitment to mobilizing further resources and making the Iteso Palace one of the most significant landmarks in Uganda and East Africa.
Emorimor also spoke about his dedication to addressing social issues in Teso, such as child abuse, school dropouts, and early marriages.
He was accompanied by prominent figures, including his Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Andrew Ocole, and other key leaders, further highlighting the community’s commitment to cultural heritage and development.
