Parliamentary hopeful Isaac Orego received a powerful show of support from residents of Campswahili and Madera wards, as his campaign continues to gather momentum ahead of the party primaries. The overwhelming welcome during his day-four campaign trail is being seen by many as a clear signal of a potential bloc vote from these key areas.

The rallies, held in the heart of Soroti City East Division, drew hundreds of residents who turned out to hear Orego’s message of transformation and community-centered leadership. The reception stood in stark contrast to those received by his rivals in recent days, with political analysts now speculating that Orego may have already secured significant grassroots support.

“We are tired of promises. Orego is speaking our language,” said one resident of Madera. “He has shown that he understands the real problems facing us, from education to roads to electricity.”

During his speeches, Orego laid out an ambitious agenda focused on improving public infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment. Referring to a recent tragic incident in Madera where a pupil lost their life after falling into a dilapidated pit latrine, Orego pledged to prioritize the inspection and upgrading of all government school facilities in Soroti City East.

“Our children deserve safe, clean learning environments,” Orego told the crowd. “No parent should ever lose a child due to preventable neglect.”
He also vowed to champion the rehabilitation of roads in the division and promised to lobby government agencies to extend electricity access to every ward. In addition, Orego addressed the pressing issue of youth unemployment, pledging to support local entrepreneurs and small business owners through policy advocacy and partnership programs.

“The people of Soroti City East are ready for change,” Orego said. “This campaign is not just about winning an election,it’s about restoring dignity and opportunity to our communities.”

With rising support in key wards like Campswahili and Madera, Orego’s growing influence has sent ripples through the local political landscape. Observers say that if this trend continues, a bloc vote from these wards could significantly boost his chances in the upcoming party primaries.

As the race intensifies, all eyes will be on whether Orego can maintain this early lead and translate grassroots enthusiasm into electoral victory.
