SOROTI - Isaac Orego, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for the Soroti City East Division parliamentary seat, has applauded His Highness Paul Sande Emolot Etomeiling, the Emorimor of the Iteso, for his unwavering commitment to improving education in the Teso sub-region.
Orego made the remarks during the recently held Emorimor Coronation Run, a community-driven initiative organized by the Iteso Cultural Union to raise funds in support of child education. The event, which drew hundreds of participants from across the region, aimed to generate resources to support school-going children through scholarships, learning materials, and improved educational infrastructure.
In an interview at the event, Orego praised the cultural leader’s vision and initiative, describing it as a timely and impactful intervention. “I commend His Highness Paul Sande Emolot Etomeiling for this noble effort. Investing in our children’s education is the surest way to secure the future of the Iteso community,” he said.
Orego noted that cultural institutions have a critical role to play in addressing social and developmental challenges, particularly in the education sector. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between political, cultural, and community leaders to ensure that every child in the region has access to quality education.
“This run is more than just a symbolic event. It is a call to action for all of us to take responsibility for the future of our children. I am proud to stand with the Emorimor in this effort,” Orego added.
The Emorimor Coronation Run marks a significant step in mobilizing community resources and attention toward the educational needs of the Iteso youth, setting a strong example of unity and purpose in addressing grassroots development priorities.
