As schools officially begin their first term, Friends at Heart, a non-profit charity organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities, has announced to host a charitable dinner aimed at raising funds for school-going children under its care.
Speaking during a press conference, Omoding Francis revealed that the organization is currently supporting 30 children, the majority of whom are orphans facing significant social and economic challenges. He emphasized that many of the children are highly vulnerable and lack access to basic educational resources, making external support crucial to securing their future.
Francis called upon well-wishers and members of the public to attend the fundraising dinner scheduled for 1st of March at Mongil Guest house in Soroti city . He noted that each ticket is priced at 70,000 shillings, and proceeds from the event will directly contribute toward providing school fees, scholastic materials, and other essential needs for the children. He stressed that by purchasing a ticket, attendees will be playing a direct role in giving vulnerable children a brighter future.
In addition to the dinner, the organization has planned an outreach activity set to take place on March 22, 2026, as part of its continued efforts to extend support to marginalized groups within the community.
Omoding highlighted several charitable initiatives previously undertaken by the organization. These include providing assistance to an elderly person in Kichinjaja, supporting street children in Soroti, extending aid to schools for the blind, assisting pregnant mothers in Moruapesur, and offering support to the pediatric ward caring for children in need.
Amina Siraj, the Assistant Coordinator at Friends at Heart, encouraged those who may not be able to attend the dinner to support the cause through alternative means. She announced that branded T-shirts are available for purchase at 30,000 shillings each, in both black and white, with proceeds also going toward the charity’s programs.
Meanwhile, Nassili Sharif, a member of the organization, appealed to the public to turn up in large numbers for the charitable dinner, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in transforming the lives of vulnerable children.
With the new school term underway, Friends at Heart remains committed to ensuring that underprivileged children are not left behind, urging the community to unite in support of education and hope for a better tomorrow.
