Soroti — Police in the East Kyoga Region have arrested two additional suspects in connection with an aggravated robbery and fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month in Soroti City.
The arrests were made during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Akaikai, Soroti District.
According to police, the suspects,both adult women are believed to have played a role in concealing the firearm used in the attack. Following their arrest, the suspects led investigators to a grass-thatched kitchen where eighteen rounds of SMG ammunition had been hidden.
Authorities confirmed that the firearm linked to the crime had already been recovered in a prior operation. The suspects are currently being held at Soroti Central Police Station and are expected to be charged as investigations continue.
Police say the arrests mark a significant step in efforts to bring all those involved in the crime to justice. They have reiterated their commitment to pursuing suspects linked to violent offenses and ensuring accountability in the killing.
