Ugandan singer Papa Cidy has publicly appealed to fellow music star Dr. Jose Chameleone, calling for fairness regarding unpaid royalties and performance compensation linked to their past collaborations.

In a message shared on his Facebook page, Papa Cidy addressed Chameleone respectfully, describing him as someone he has always known to be a good person. However, he raised concerns about songs they recorded together, including the popular track Daniela and other collaborations that were uploaded on Chameleone's channel.

According to Papa Cidy, he invested significantly in the production of those projects and believes he is entitled to a share of the royalties generated from the songs.

"I believe I deserve a paycheck from royalties collection," he stated, emphasizing the financial commitment he made toward the collaborations.

The singer also revealed that he was not paid following their most recent joint performance in London. Expressing frustration, he questioned how artists are expected to sustain themselves if they continue working without compensation.

Papa Cidy urged Chameleone to address the matter while all parties are still able to discuss and resolve it amicably. He stressed the importance of recognizing and appreciating contributors during their lifetime rather than after their passing.

Referencing past experiences within Uganda's entertainment industry, he noted that appreciation and recognition often come too late, mentioning instances involving political leader and musician Bobi Wine and the late Master Parrot.

The artist concluded his message by calling for a respectful resolution to the issues and expressing hope that both sides can find common ground.

The public appeal has since attracted attention from fans and industry observers, sparking conversations about artists' rights, royalty payments, and fair compensation within Uganda's music industry.
