The story of Anyumel Anna Grace aged 26 who has been rotting alive is one with testimony after Well-wishers have fundraised money to support her treatment.

Her 14 year old daughter Faith Atai who dropped out of school was forced to stay home and nurse her mums' wounds while in an old house located in western division in Soroti city east with hope that she recovers while her young sister aged 10 had to continue with school as she was sponsored by an organization.

Her eyes full of sorrow, tears rolling down from her cheeks uncontrollably with pain as members of the public tried consoling and bringing back home that her mum would be well again.

According to one of the care takers, the sad story of Grace's illness started during her first pregnancy, she became paralyzed after delivering her first born, couldn't walk but her faith made her walk again after praying to the almighty for healing but then later got pregnant for her second child thus developing the paralysis around her legs again thus forcing her to use a wheel chair.

" She successfully delivered her second daughter but it didn't change her situation as even her husband took off, in 2014, she developed fistula and was in Terrewode in Jinja, later came back home but after three months later she developed health issues around the waist that made her fail even to move further but was later taken to main hospital for medication but nothing changed",

She also narrated with a heavy sorrowful voice that Anyumel started developing wounds in 2015 but because of fear of informing the people within her,she went mute but her daughter who used to bath her reported to the people.

By press time , information received was that the patient has no history of threatening cancer or diabetes as per the doctors report who have been attending to her at the main hospital though the cause of the rotting wounds came up after delivering her second bone aged 10 years ago as she developed paralysis caused by her being bedridden and developed decubitus ulcers which in turn caused the development of the wounds or pressure sores.

Because of this unattended sores and other illnesses and lack of social support, her condition reached to where it is today.

"For now till tomorrow we wait for a comprehensive medical report from Soroti referral hospital which will guide our next set of actions as a team of friends who are nurses, doctors and medical consultants have gotten moved to share in their experience, resources and time to daily give mama the needed attention until she's well", George Okoit the chief mobilizer for the fundraiser said.

A number of well-wishers have since turned up to rescue the ailing mother and her family and this also includes, rotary club soroti, medical team from soroti regional referral hospital, private medical practioners, tiktokers, business community, members of the public and the

Baptist church who have committed to take up the daughters education from next term fully in boarding section of Goshen Primary school in Soroti city and also medical support through the Baptist church hospital at Senior quarters in western division in Soroti City.
