Soroti City – In a strategic move to bolster household incomes and combat poverty, parliamentary aspirant Isaac Orego has extended a helping hand to four savings groups in Madera Ward, Soroti City East Division, by donating a total of 110 chicks to support poultry farming initiatives.

Among the beneficiary groups are Amori Ican Women’s Savings Group of Otuchopi and Ebumakinos Savings Group. The initiative was met with excitement and gratitude from community members who lauded Orego’s development-focused approach.

Atim Teddy, Chairperson of the Amori Ican Women’s Savings Group from Asinge Cell, could not hide her joy. “This poultry initiative will boost household development,” she said. “We are grateful, and we encourage Mr. Orego to continue uplifting the community.”

Speaking during the distribution, Mr. Ekungu John Omaido, Orego’s Campaign Manager, emphasized the value of such empowerment efforts. “These small but impactful initiatives are signs of a leader with a vision. Mr. Orego is showing that he is ready to empower and serve,” he noted.

He highlighted poultry farming as a practical and sustainable income-generating activity that can transform households. “When families are supported with productive ventures like poultry, they can begin to accumulate wealth,” he added.

Mr. Osujo Joseph, General Coordinator of the Orego Campaign Team, reiterated the team’s commitment to grassroots empowerment. “Mr. Orego is committed to restoring the financial foundation of homes through tangible empowerment programs,” he said.

Alaso Magret, a direct beneficiary of the poultry initiative, expressed her appreciation. “We thank Mr. Orego for this thoughtful support. It gives us hope and strengthens our efforts in improving our livelihoods.”

The poultry distribution is part of Isaac Orego’s broader campaign to promote sustainable development and economic self-reliance among residents of Soroti City East Division. As his parliamentary bid gains momentum, initiatives like these are signaling a people-centered approach to leadership and community transformation.
