Amuria District — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries in Amuria District have produced clear winners as Etilu Margret and Anyuk Teddy Osire secured the party’s nominations for Woman Member of Parliament and Orungo Constituency MP respectively.
Etilu Margret Dominates Woman MP Race
Etilu Margret won the NRM Woman MP primary with a commanding 44,622 votes, outpacing her closest competitors, Abeja Sarah Specioza (11,958 votes) and Ajore Ann Grace (8,952 votes). Other candidates such as Adecho Elizabeth, Apolot Proscovia, and Aliamo Eunice received significantly fewer votes.
Her resounding victory signals strong grassroots support and positions her as a formidable candidate ahead of the general elections. Etilu campaigned on issues of women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, and economic development, resonating with a wide range of voters.
Anyuk Teddy Osire Takes Orungo Constituency
In Orungo Constituency, Anyuk Teddy Osire clinched the NRM flag with 9,975 votes, defeating challengers Amali Solomon (7,804 votes) and Opio Abraham (240 votes). Anyuk’s win reflects his growing influence and appeal among the electorate, who are eager for fresh leadership and development in the area.
With both Etilu and Anyuk as flag bearers, the NRM prepares to defend its positions in the upcoming general elections. Analysts note that their decisive primary wins provide the party with a strong foundation to mobilize supporters and address critical issues within their constituencies.
As campaigns intensify, voters will be closely watching how these candidates translate their primary success into broader electoral victories.
