WAKISO – The Iteso in Kampala, a vibrant social network group dedicated to uniting the Iteso community in Uganda's central region, recently celebrated its first anniversary with a grand event at Nanfuka Bar and Grill.

Over 100 members gathered to commemorate the milestone, reflecting the group's unwavering commitment to promoting the culture and welfare of the Iteso people.

In just one year, the group has made significant strides, organizing impactful activities such as the highly successful "Iteso Meet and Greet" event on October 5th, 2024, and a charity outreach at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital on December 24th, 2024. These initiatives highlight the group's dedication to fostering unity and giving back to the community.

During the anniversary celebrations, the founders, Ariko Peter (also known as Rickxel Mc) and Omoding Simon Peter (aka DJ Sppitch), shared exciting plans for the group's future.

Among the key announcements was the second edition of the "Iteso Meet and Greet," scheduled for October 4th, 2025. In an exclusive interview with our reporter, the founders expressed their anticipation for continued growth and future endeavors aimed at furthering the social and cultural development of the Iteso people.

The event not only celebrated the group's achievements but also emphasized the importance of preserving Iteso culture while creating a supportive network for Iteso individuals in Kampala. The anniversary celebration was a true testament to the strength of the community and its shared vision for a prosperous future.
