Sarah Inachu, the flag bearer for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the upcoming race for Soroti City Woman Member of Parliament (MP), has made a bold promise to dismantle the long-standing dominance of opposition politics in the city. Inachu, who has positioned herself as a transformative leader, outlined her plans to bring more inclusive and effective representation for the people of Soroti.

Addressing the media at a recent press conference, Inachu expressed her deep gratitude to her supporters who had backed her in securing the NRM flag for the race. She noted that this was not only a victory for her campaign but also a clear signal that the people of Soroti City are yearning for change. “For far too long, Soroti has been under the control of opposition forces that have failed to deliver meaningful progress for the people. It’s time for a new chapter,” she declared.

One of Inachu’s key messages was the need for Soroti to be represented by someone who is part of the ruling party, the NRM, which, according to her, would guarantee better access to services and government support. “When you have an NRM representative in Parliament, you are not just another voice in the crowd. You are part of a larger movement that can bring development to the city. Access to better healthcare, education, and infrastructure becomes much more achievable,” Inachu explained.

Soroti, historically known as a stronghold of opposition politics, has seen minimal representation from the ruling party. Inachu’s candidacy seeks to change this, offering voters an alternative to the entrenched opposition leadership. “Soroti City needs a fresh, progressive approach one that prioritizes the needs of the youth, women, and the marginalized. We cannot afford to continue with a status quo that has left many of our people behind,” she added.

Inachu, who has been a prominent advocate for youth and women’s issues, pledged to be a voice for the voiceless and to work towards the socio-economic empowerment of Soroti’s residents. “My mandate will be focused on ensuring that every young person has access to opportunities for education and employment. Women, too, will have a stronger voice under my leadership, with better representation and resources allocated to address their unique challenges,” she said.

The candidate further emphasized the importance of local development. Inachu highlighted key sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure, and job creation as critical areas that would benefit from NRM leadership. She criticized the current opposition leadership for failing to deliver on promises and for not prioritizing the pressing needs of Soroti’s population.

While the opposition maintains a firm grip on Soroti, Inachu’s campaign is resonating with many residents who are dissatisfied with the lack of tangible progress. Many voters are beginning to see the potential advantages of having an NRM representative who can bring much needed resources and development programs to the city.

Inachu’s call for unity and her commitment to fostering social-economic transformation has energized her supporters. “If given the mandate, I will not only focus on politics; I will focus on the real needs of the people healthcare, education, roads, and employment. Soroti deserves better leadership, and I am ready to deliver,” she concluded.

As the race for the Soroti City Woman MP seat heats up, Inachu’s campaign presents a compelling vision for the future. Whether or not she can dismantle the opposition’s stronghold remains to be seen, but her promise of better leadership and tangible progress has clearly struck a chord with many of the city’s residents.
