The soroti district councilors have come into an understanding of transferring the district head quarters to katine subcounty.
This was during yesterday's first council sitting in the lukiko hall that was attended by different councilors who carried out secret ballot inorder to come up with one location as there was a tough debate amongest different councilors who proposed the district head quarters to be taken to Arapai subcounty and those who opposed it to be taken to katine subcounty.
Olebe samuel the district speaker resolved that the councilors voted secretly so that one decision would be made and it was later on agreed by the councilors.
Out of the 27 councilors who voted, 19 voted in favour of katine subcounty and 8 voted in favour of arapai subcounty.
The soroti district Chief Adminstrative officer Luke L. Lokuda who presided the voting process urged the councilors to work together and leave politics behind.
Hon. Patrick Aeku the soroti county mp who attended the council meeting as an ex official applauded the councilors for coming up with one decision and promised to work hand in hand with them for the betterment of the county.
He also added that he will work hard to see that kamuda health center 3 gets elevated into health center 4.
